Nice to meet you

Hello, I’m Emily. Freelance writer, doughnut lover, and terrible parallel parker.

British by birth but now living in the south of France, I count myself as one of the lucky few who actually enjoys their job. Before you hate me too much, I’ll admit that it wasn’t always this way.

Before striking out on my own, I worked in London for several large international companies crafting content on everything and anything. But long commutes on the underground, lack of flexibility and creative restrictions meant I knew it wasn’t for me.

Now, I work from my home office looking out across the lush French countryside with my dog at my feet, a cup of tea in hand, and I thank my lucky stars.

It wasn’t easy to quit my job and move abroad to start afresh, but (and I’m giving myself some credit here) I’m good at what I do. So with a bit of hard work, plenty of doughnut breaks, and some very long days, I now successfully create engaging content for businesses worldwide. And I love it.

But what do I do when I’m not writing?

If I’m not reading or writing, you can generally find me outside. I enjoy horse riding, skiing, and hiking with my dog, Suzette. My other passion in life is dancing, which I began at the age of 5. If I’m too busy to train properly, then I will at the very least dance around my kitchen, a glass of wine in hand, while cooking dinner.
